Cupcake Adventures

I'm constantly experimenting with different cupcake combinations and this one was a cool one.  It had a vanilla cake base with a pink bubblegum flavored buttercream topped with tufts of blue and pink cotton candy.

The flavor combination was great and would especially be appealing to kids but I didn't have a problem scarfing it down myself.  The only problem with making these is that the cotton candy starts to melt and becomes a limp blob within 30 minutes.  I still think that if these would be topped with the cotton candy immediately before serving, they would make a whimsical addition to a party.
